Good bye Blues

Hello,

Today was really busy; church, Surge training, volleyball, Submerge practice. I can't believe we're going to India in a week...definitely not very prepared.

The Hush Sound's new album (Good bye Blues) came out and I got about half of it. I'm surprised the other lyrics weren't great. It's beautiful though, and her voice has gotten fuller and more jazzy.

Intro - eerie, haunting, pretty
Honey - lovely song...I can't stop singing it.
Medicine Man - I like the bridge
Hurricane - really nice.
Molasses - so cool. If I can get the keyboard chords I'll do it for the no talent show.
Not Your Concern - good but kind of mean.
You Are My Home - bonus track; my favourite ever, but a bit sad.
Pretty Down to Your Bones - bonus track; I like kind of.

How are all of you? I'm mostly alright.
Good night;
love,
Cait

good things.

good drink -

good movie -
good book -

and good days.
A Tale of Two Cities is one of my all time favourite books, so having read it 5 times already really helps with studying it for school. Amelie is awesome, I would give warnings though.
Re my last post, thanks for praying, the talk went ok. I still don't know what's really going to happen but at least it's been approached and is 'technically' alright.

Dahlia Oz is having surgery soon...as soon as I can buy new eyelashes and a new set of eyechips. I'm going to slash her head open and cut up her eyes, pretty much, yea. =P No really, I'm going to open up her head, give her boggled eyes, sleep eyes, new eyechips and eyelashes. And no, it won't wreck her. You can do that with dolls...more proof she's not a little kid toy ;)

just a quick note as we're getting up at 5 tomorrow for the Easter sunrise service.

a request

I'm not sure any of you will read this before anything occurs, but I wanted to ask you all to pray for something. I just talked everything out with one of the friends I was struggling with (praise God for that!) and found a little bit out about what is going on with the other. So...now I guess we need to talk about it and I'm not sure if she will want to. Either way it will be hard on both sides, but I don't want to just leave it, for many reasons.
If you think of it, please just pray that the relationship would be healed or at least understood, and we would get the chance to talk about it and would know what to say.
thanks a lot.

Love,
cait

this week.

Good evening;

Last night was my well group sleepover. When we first got there some of us ended up sitting around for about half an hour before Donny arrived with Sonja and Susanna...finally I realised I had a missed call and called Donny. We all went completely blank when she said "Oh, you're already there...!? Didn't I tell you it was cancelled?" Then we all laughed and she said they were right outside. Of course we immediately shut off all the lights and lock the door. They stood out there for about five minutes, banging on the door and singing "We have chocolate!" until Donny finally called me and asked where we were...to which we replied that it was cancelled, and after a good laugh they came in.

It was pretty fun, we didn't do a whole lot - just make dinner, watch Bride and Prejudice (Bollywood version of a modern day Indian P&P), do craft and art stuff for our service project, and talk...we made a kind of breakfast in bed for Donny in the morning.

Today is very happily the end of these past two weeks of busy-ness in school...I finished my term paper this afternoon.
Here is one of the results of my late-night de-stress-itizing sketches.
Other than that there isn't much to report apart from the fact that I got to spend a morning this week looking after this darling baby. He is so precious. It was fun! Luke is still so tiny.

with love,
Cait =)

P.S. Oh, at Oasis this week Shehan gave the message and did really, really well.

Etsy!

An announcement - my Etsy store is finally officially open! There isn't much on it yet but I'm still excited to finally have it. I have some new fabric and am having fun with that. Also, someone here in Dubai contacted me about a UAE craft souq and I may be able to do something with that; and - get this - art prints too. I don't think people would buy enough for it to be worth it to be part of the bazaar yet though, so we'll see.

March hares

...happy March...happy month of mad hatters...and hares...March hares. Really need to watch Alice in Wonderland again.

I'm reading Catherine Wheels and it's very good. It reminds me of Blue Like Jazz, though it's less about philosophy and more about...I'm not sure what, but it's better. Blue Like Jazz was too iffy. All the books I've been reading lately are about death...which is sad...but they are genuinely good books for various reasons. It's worth thinking about, in all respects.
- Phantom of the Opera - good story.
- Blue Like Jazz - more ambiguous but still interesting. More about life, but life with pain and healing.
- Everybody Wants to Go To Heaven (the David Crowder book) - just...amazing...read it if you can. Someday I might write a better review of it than that but for now I'm tired.
- Catherine Wheels - well, I'm less than half way through it, but it's definitely meaningful. I like books where they don't figure out what they're looking for or thinking until near the end...and you don't really know either, or if they'll find it. This book is like that.

Tuesday mom and I went to the fashion show. It was very cool =) I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was sad seeing one of the models though; she was so dangerously thin. I won't post many photos as not all the dresses were that great. Some were pretty bizzarre which was cool, and they modelled a few abayas as well.

Today I went to Cathy's house which was fun. She now lives in Dubai instead of Sharjah! It's so sad that she's leaving end of this year though.

Keep thinking I'm forgetting something but I don't know what, so oh well.
God bless!

love,
Cait

'Tagged' by Krystal Rose.

Here's how you play: Once you've been 'tagged', you have to write a blog of 10 weird / random facts/ habits/goals about yourself. At the end choose 10 people to be tagged, listing their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment ( You're IT ! ) and to read your blog. You can't tag the person who tagged you, since you can't tag me back - let me know when you've posted your blog so I can see your answers.

1) I don't like being called Katie.
2) Both my grandpa and my dad use Old Spice so I love that scent.
3) When I want to express myself the most, I can't.
4) I'm happiest when writing poetry but don't do it often.
5) The more I dislike the dog the more I feel badly about it.
6) I'm the haircutter for our whole family. But not myself, generally, anymore.
7) I'm currently obsessed with the traditional song "Scarborough Fair."
8) Ashley calls me fairycake. I love her. We try to talk on the phone while getting into pajamas; the results are always entertaining.
9) It would be cool if people spoke cantaireachd as a language...though I'm not sure how it would translate to actual words...
10) I dislike the feeling of being full.

Hmm....not going to tag anyone but Leah and Anna might want to do it. An algebraic equation stating "you must do it if you want to" would be cool.

here it is

Not the best photo but there...have offically decided I don't like the cut but oh well, will grow out soon enough. Donny and a few other people were saying it's more artsy and edgy and suits my personality but it still isn't really what I'd like.

I have news about my well group leader! But I can't tell you yet even though most of you don't know her =P
Sugar and Spice may be cancelled this weekend due to low numbers, sadly.
This weekend was ricidulously busy, but not bad. This morning I had the privilege of helping Donny go shopping; was fun because I got to take the three "babies" around while she shopped, and they are so sweet (though also wild and stubborn!). In school right now I'm kind of in a two-week period of busy-ness, but should slow down a bit in a week. I'm so ready for another break...or even just a break to catch up on studying. Our Easter holidy will be in April and we'll be in India which doesn't count (but is exciting). Also on Easter we probably won't get to go to Dreamland, which is sad. I'll have some subjects off school that week though, which will be nice.
Ok, tired.

love,
Cait
